Menorca wouldn't be hot at that time of year. I've seen pictures of snow on the island!

Lanzarote is good, if you don't mind the lack of scenery... well, there is scenery, just that it resembles the surface of Mars or similar!

It's hot, but with a breeze, so bearable, and still fairly cheap to drink and eat out.

We went to Gran Canaria last year and it was in the 30's some days. Nice and hot but as stated above looks like Mars

Cool

I'm looking for exactly the same thing. I've narrowed it down to the Canaries, Cyprus, Egypt and Bali. I really fancy Bali but she won't sit on a plane for 17 hours They all offer about the same temperatures, hours of sunshine etc, and Egypt will even throw in constant hassle from the natives

Must admit, Gran Canaria is top of our list so far tho I don't think the water's too warm then....

some holiday places are advising people against going to Bali at the moment because of political problems.

just thought you might be interested.

Egypt is a great place to go to. I went in September a few years back and it was 40 degree heat every day..so no worries about it not being hot. loads to do if you have the cash to.

plus you can get amazing last minute deals there. spend the same as you would going to Greece or any med package holiday for 2 weeks.

I thought Egypt was a toliet of a place IMO and left there early as I couldn't stand it. Cyprus isn't too bad as well.

47...where did you go???

granted...some areas are nasty and i wouldnt let my dog live there let alone go on holiday there...but some places are really lovely and the history of the place is amazing.

going on trips like cruise down the nile, Valley of the kings and queens, and a trip into the desert were great. We saw a mirage when we were in the desert and got some brilliant pictures and memories.

mind you...its not for everyone. depends on what youre looking for in a holiday.

Crete and Cyprus are lovely.

Went to Cairo, it was hard work beating off the locals who were constantly begging and even the Police were doing the same sometimes We had to have an armed body guard with us at all times. We done the Nile cruise, saw the Pyramids and went to the Musuems, etc, etc all the touristy things. Just didnt like it from the moment I got there, Oh and driving over there...Wow you have to be mad so I fitted in well there

Went to Cyprus over X mas & New Year for 17 nights and it was quite nice and plenty to do, although the max temp we had was about 23oC dgrees.

Have done all the Canary Islands bar from Fuertventura so far. There not the most picturesque places but the beers cheap, theres plenty of places for food, etc

Given the choice I'd go to the Canaries But then again I'm a mid 30's sun lover who likes beers and lazing around when the oppurtunity comes around.

We've managed on nearly all the times we've been away (booked within 2 weeks of departure) to get some really good prices via caning the teletext numbers and web sites, although I use to set up another e mail addy and then just watch the junk come through thick and fast after we've booked...
