I think everyone should have watched this to appreciate just how overstretched our Police forces are.
Based around one Sheffield station over 6 weeks, I was embarrassed at what little resources they had
Could not believe the rediculous paperwork they had to fill in...completing a form logging their activities every 15 minutes no wonder they were a bit pee'd off with having to do it at the end of their shifts.
Anyone having to discover a body after two weeks of decomposition gets my respect

It was an eye-opener!
I'll be a copper soon, so it was a taster as to what to expect.
8 police officers on duty covering a population of 91000.

I agree. Shocked at number of officers used to cover such a larger area i think they said 8
Cops have my total respect as to what they have to deal with day to day. Even if i got a speeding fine of £60 last week

Couldnt work out the copper who loved pushing everyone ....bit of a live wire!!!
But scum are scum ....and just because they might have jobs and nice cars etc..doesnt change the fact that they are trouble makers.
What sort of society are we living in??? What the hell triggers these scum???

before the usual pro-speeding brigade come along, there was no mention of the traffic cops. Speed cameras are another form of crime prevention and if you don't want to get caught, don't speed.
I have been known to nip on a bit and so would have no right to moan when caught
Program was a eyeopener for sure on the life of a duty officer, sad to see Governemnt targets for solving burglaries as low as 15% yet they were struggling to make 7%

That 13 year old scum that they gave a hard time thoroughly deserved it. And as for his 'mother' - not fit to be in charge of a gold fish
The reson Sheffield only had 8 officers on duty was because all of their resources were being used policing football 'supporters'. Think how much more could be done to tackle crime if we did not have this social malaise. As they said, the majority of people who pay tax are suffering because of these people. Makes me sick.

rather than pay for just 48 of the 150 odd officers, the football clubs should pay for 100% of the policing. They would then have to put that on the ticket price so the scum would either be taxing themselves or, better still, would not even turn up.
just a tought...

It was very frustrating to watch, especially the bit covering the football match. Yes the clubs should have to pay for this, every officer used should be charged back to the football club.
Maybe then they will stop paying the players stupid wages and do something for the community around them? Why should we all pay for the stupid moronic element that these matches seam to attract?

One police officer asked what made people act like idiots at football matches..
..after the documentary I watched the news... saw several professional footballers kicking the **** out of each other infront of 60,000 worshipping fans..
IMHO the FA needs to sort out the hypocrisy before putting more resources into paying the Police bill..
All IMHO

Many years ago (like 25 ) an copper came to talk at my school. He was in his 50s I guess and had seen it all. He said that the *only* thing that deters criminals is the fear of getting caught.
25 years later it seems, they don't even worry about that. Now the only real worry for a criminal is the consequences of getting caught. Which seem to be bugger all other than for murder, oh, and motoring offences

No, the 8 officers was for a "normal" nightshift.
The football thing did still take police off normal evening duties.
That 13yr old boy deserved a real good shoeing.
Little c**t.
Mother's fault, though.

Good documentary and yes, I think the 13 year old ****** should have been put down, immediately for his sake and ours.
What annoyed me is the sodding football games. No wonder there is so much crime when all the resource is spent policing games. Why not leave the hooligans to themselves and then they can kill each other? Saves on our taxes.
