Great way to cool down! That picture was on Wednesday evening, couldn't think of a better place to have been. Only my second go this week, I'm told that it'll take a minimum of 4 weeks for my body to get used to the assault. Arms and Shoulders last week, back this, what's next??
Managed to get the board out of the water... just.

Not quite sure how good you are but once you can get up and go in a straight line, you got to try and get your balance levels up. It is just a matter of practice, first just try crossing the wakes bothways, when you are competant at that start to do small bunny hops/jumps of the wake as you cross, do a couple of one 180s etc, ride the wake.
That should keep you happy for the rest of the year.

Ok picture just came up, if you are using a high pole I have seen people manage to jump about 5ft within a year and completely cross the wake in the air. When you manage to get to this height you have time to do little manaouveres in the air. And be warned your are likely to have a couple of falls which will make you ache.

I have a pretty strong snowboarding background and that's proving a huge advantage. Next week I'll be looking for the speed and angle to go wake to wake and will try riding switch some more. Both sessions I've had were 15mins and both times I could hardly pull myself back into the boat

And let me guess you ached for days, you will probably just be getting fit enough and then the season will be over. Well for me anyway.... I ain't going out in the freezing cold anymore

I stopped aching this Wednesday from last Wednesday's fun, am aching now with no sign of let up and a possible ride tomorrow. Hopefully this effort will improve my fitness for Snowboarding as like you there's no way I'm swimming in cold water.

Was looking forward to a nice cool dip today, and the water has really warmed up, is there no where I can get cool!!!!!
Went quite a way out to see today and when I was skiing back the heat of the air just hit me, I think England has turned into cyprus.

The boat is very nice an Air Nautique, I'm riding the cable tow this Wednesday and to be honest not looking forward to it, I think I'm cableaphobic.

Hi
Just found the thread. I started wakeboarding about 4 months ago and i must admit that the whole of my life revolves around it.
We use the WestMidland Waterski Centre near Tamworth, take a look here www.wmwaterski.com
Only popped down there for a drink one night, then had a couple of lessons, bought a board, wife bought a board, bought a boat with a tower, bought a better board with bindings, it goes on and on and on!!!!
We love it, the only thing is we are in constant pain, keep trying that wake to wake jump, landing about 3/4 but always faceplant when i clear it. Time on water is the only way to get better.
Have fun
Paul

No, had a feeling you might have thought that! I'm behind the camera. I can't quite make it wake to wake other than that about the same standard. Getting up was the biggest challenge, but - pretty much - have that sussed now. Can't wait for Wednesday, the cables should give me time to sort out riding Switch, but I keep hearing that getting up on the cable is a complete pain in the butt... or arms anyhow!

Hi
I use the WM Waterski centre, there are plenty of places to go, have a look at the British WaterSki Federation website www.britishwaterski.co.uk
I dont take my boat anywhere but there as its only two miles down the road from where i live.

well done to jack fantastic for a first go
cable tow is not as much fun as a boat but it is good value at 20 quid for about 2 hours
i do my boarding at grendon lakes they charge me 50 quid to use the lake from 7 til 2 or 2 til dark
or conway north wales is a great place and only 10 quid to launch off the council slipway
i may have a boat for sale soon as im hoping to pick up a new one at the southamton boat show

Cheers for the link Paul, managed to find this place http://www.oxfordwsc.com/ which is close'ish to me.
Thanks Wakeboardar, keep me up to date with your boat stuff, just being out on a boat is half the fun for me at the moment, £50 seems very reasonable to me.
