my drive to work everyday is over a B road (were talkin 110mph straights with some 50mph corners) and after getting stuck behind people in powerful cars who can't get over 40mph i couldnt agree more, when you ask them why they cant do the speed limit they say its not safe (it so is, its unsafe if you don't!) and im not comfortable doing those speeds. what they really are is not competent in driving therefore needing to be stopped, dragged out of their car, hung up at the side of the road and shot!

what iritates me are the chaps that think as they are at the national speed limit in the OVERTAKING lane, they believe that they have the right to sit in said lane. the name says it all OVERTAKE then pi$$ of to the slow *** lane.

make it compulsory to complete advanced driving inside two years of passing first test or licence is forfeited and basic test has to be passed again, including theory.

Stick up "MINIMUM SPEED SIGNS"
Then install "SNAIL CAMERAS" and send fines left right and centre to those who fall under the MINIMUM SPEED.
Id paint them in camoflage colours and hide them in trees, the fine would be double that for speeding and 10mph less than the MINIMUM SPEED would result in a ban.
Think it'll catch on?

This thread is good timing for me: This morning on the way to work on the M42, I went to overtake I little gaggle of cars in the middle lane being held up by a van - I approached them @ 70 no prob, then moved over to overtake accelerating to no more than 85, when this pen1s moves out right in front of me. I had to brake quite hard and then he held me at 60 in the outside lane. I was still quite chilled considering. I then moved over back to middle lane to get ready for M42 off-slip at M40 split (if you know it) and he crosses straight over in front of me, thinking I was gonna undertake I guess. What a prat.

ya'll are brutal, and i agree w/ ya'll completly. People in performance cars going 20 and 30 mph under the limit **** me off about as much as people who buy range rovers, huge SUV's and pickup trucks that never take them off road or carry anything big.
There are is a law in place that anyone going under the speed limit w/ several cars following them must pull over at the next available spot and let them pass. Unfortunatly, its on in effect in Alaska (where 40-50% of the cars are subaru's).
(lol, i like the snail camera idea, could convert the speeding cameras to snail cameras and solve all our problems :-D)

Well to balance the argument.
If everyone doing less than 10mph under the speed limit shoud be banned as you suggest then I think that everyone caught doing 10mph OVER the speed limit should be banned also.
The speed limit is a maximum and does not mean that it is safe to travel at that speed.
The people that travel under it are less likely to kill someone as their stopping distance is going to be reduced.
If you are in such a hurry then I suggest that you drag your lazy **** out of bed a bit earlier and leave sooner.

I would:
Ban buses and divert all the subsidies into rail.
Prevent HGVs from overtaking (eliminate the rolling roadblock).
Ban speed cameras, but introduce more road-tax cameras.
Introduce an insurance disc to sit alongside the tax disc.
Beating with a hosepipe for people driving without tax and insurance, or for people who don't understand lane discipline.
Build new roads, and have badly designed roads altered to improve traffic flow and safety.

Yeah but in my point half the time its safe to do 60 even 100 in places but the people tend to be old and drive V8 s type jags etc etc that go like stink.. and to make it worse, when u overtake they boot it! THEY ALL NEED ******* SHOOTING! NO EXCEPTIONS!

Raise speed limits on motorways to 120 mph
Ban speed camera's
Offer Tax incentives for people to buy new cars with lower emissions
Remove subsidy to public transport.
Introduce a penalty payment system so if you journey is delayed due to congestion you get money back to cover time and fuel
