Jack Straw as Transport Minister?
#1
According to the sun Jack Straw is in line to take John Prescott's old job as in charge of roads and transport.
Does this mean we can all go 100Mph on the motorway with impunity? Thought not.
I expect the M4 bus lane will now become 'on the way to a labour party meeting' lane.
Tongue in cheek mode on
It's a shame Peter Mandelsson's is'nt going to get the transport ministers job. We could then call him 'Two ****'
Tongue in cheek mode off

It's going to get worse. Expect more motorway bus lanes - M6 around the Birmingham bottleneck is on the cards to get a peak-hour truck/bus lane (probably not in Lane 3 like the M4, but still compressing the cars into the two remaining lanes). You can guarantee that the results from any "pilot" of the scheme will be massaged to show its success and then we'll be lumbered. New Labour are back in power for another four or five years - get buckled in because it's going to be a rough ride for motorists
