A forester 2.0 GX
A loan car from my local dealership.
A nice enough car in its own right, dont get me wrong, but a far cry from my Impreza. And it is so anonymous by comparison, I havnt had anybody look at the car as Ive driven it home, not one person. In my Scoob, loads of people look, some look in awe and give a nod or a thumbs up, some look and shake their heads but it gets attention all the same. (some hold their ears cos Im de-catted)
Whoever says the Impreza is losing its edge should try driving a loan car for the day, a subaru, but not a turbo. Then see how blending back into the rat race feels,
it aint nice...
Ive not had the luxury of a legacy yet, next time Im in for a service (or at least, my car is) I might request one of those and see how it compares, but today has been a bit of a let down for me and roll on four o clock when (hopefully) I am Impreza`d back up again.
This mindless observation excercise was brought to you by....
Peanuts.
ps, <flame suit on about attention seeking, vanity and insecurity>

well I've been driving a pug 206 diesel van for the last few days. it's not as bad as i thought it would be but nbo air con. The hardest thing i find is the way 'normal' cars wobble about so much. haven't had to visit too many petrol stations though

On my last service (90k) I was given a 1.6 Impreza wagon (well I hope it was... if it had a bigger engine I'll be horrified).
The dealership is in the middle of the countryside, with some fine "twisties" between it and my work place.
Hmm. Foot to the boards. Nothing. Change down a gear, plant foot firmly again. Slight increase in noise. No change in pace. Jeez. The wildlife was overtaking me.
So glad to get the ole turbo back at the end of the day, felt really rapid again. Maybe it was the fact that the weight combination of myself and the car was down by 560 pounds!

Had that experience recently. Had to drive a modeo for a few days. Soon makes you realise what you may have been taking for granted.
Forresters are good cars though. I like 'em.
