Anyone had experience starting a UK Limited Company?
The company will be a consultancy company with a half dozen people in it. Is it worth using one of the Internet based services?
Cheers,
Andy

Hi !
Buy yourself a copy of the Exchange & Mart Business edition / section and look up company formations. Cheapest is about £39 with more expensive ones offering more options but remember only certain things are needed and these are normally provided in the basic packages :
certificate of incorporation
articles of association
memorandum
share register
if ytou want some more information then just drop me a mail on here or on jai@air-tel.co.uk
thanks, Jai

Yep as you probably know Xtreme started up recently....
*Contact an accountant
*Buy a package off the shelf
*Pay about £500 in total for accountants time and name at Companies House
*Produce a business plan, the best I found was Lloyds TSB easily laid out and in a good easy to use format
*Prepare a powerpoint presentation using the above info collated
*Speak to bank manager for loan; or business set up
*Ask about opening account (chase the accountant to get the company name registered) including cheque books, paying in slips and the SWIPE machine if needed
*Look at wheteher the directors will put money into the company account (then write cheques for the start up costs)or they pay from their own account
*Ensure all bills are kept as in 3 months time you can claim the VAT back (accountant will advise here)
*Look at what PC & packages you will need, research, research
*Stationary, work wear, prmotional tools items and ensure BT sort the phone lines
*You may need red care to protect the building
Plenty to start with.........
