Hello

Source: http://uk.news.yahoo.com/030722/80/e4p9l.html

Criminals could avoid being taken to court if they agree to apologise personally to their victims, under plans outlined by the government today. .....
Now if they said "be left alone in a sound proof room with the victim and several of his friends" I might agree with it.......

Hello

Only if they crossed their heart and hoped to die that they wouldn't do it again.

And that was taken as part of a legally binding contract.

Yeah an absolutely wonderful idea ! Sarcastic mode on !
Say sorry and hey it all goes away for the criminal, job done.
What happens to supporting the victim, does the criminal have to pay the victims any compensation.
Another screwed up idea from out incompetent goverment

Wonder if this will work for speeding offences, yes officer I admit doing 90 mph on the (empty, dry motorway), but I'm really sorry about it honest ! Can I go now please !

So let me get this right. Some scumbag teenager can rob you blind and *if* in the unlikely event that they ever get caught, they just have to say 'sorry'?

WTF is 'fair' about that?? It's just more of the PC bull**** that is ruining this country.

Speeding is a "victimless crime", so you shouldn't need to apologise to anyone! Bonus!

But if you shot somebody dead I'm sure they couldn't hear your apology anyway?

Reminds me of when Bart Simpson got told off by Homer for lying; "Sorry, I'll never do it again".

Funny how all these smart schemes will save government money but are hardly likely to do any good for the victims of crime!

This is all going to lead us to a situation where Local thieves /scum drug dealers etc are going to be "targeted" and found as good as dead.

Cant wait!!!!

sure as hell the Police and Goverment wont be stopping the crime.

Government to introduce new scheme:

Criminals can avoid court by killing themselves with a ritual sword and pledging their families to serve as slaves for their victims.

In other news, a convicted speeder was given a weekend's high speed driving tution by Michael Schumacher in Ferrari's F1 car as a punishment by magistrates. "I was gutted" said Mr Smith "it was only 4mph over and I was forced to visit the Ferrari F1 team".

The punishment was developed by Social Workers with nothing better to do after all juveniles were declared criminally insane and locked up until their 18th birthday.

Traffic News:

The inside 4 lanes of deck 7 of the M25 are closed following an accident, however the remaining 96 lanes remain clear, as do the other 9 decks of motorway. Accident Screens are managing to stop rubber neckers slowing down the flow of traffic too much.
