Cool

Vibram soles - the same make as my Karrimor walking boots.

They look a bit silly though.

Question

Don't think I'll ever understand fashion and branding

I wear plain black trainers most of the time. I've no idea what make my current pair is and I couldn't care less anyway. When they wear out I'll buy another pair as cheap as I can find. It throws the sales assistants in shops completely when they ask what brand I want and I say that I don't care - I just want something cheap that'll last.

It's not as though any of the big brands actually have a reputation for anything in particular - there's not the 'comfy' brand, or the 'hard wearing' brand, or the 'just as good as the others but a but cheaper' brand. What's to choose between them exactly?

I buy trainers so that I don't **** my legs up when training and refereeing.

Reason I buy 'em

BTW Luke you should try Frontier Shoes on the corner of Berwick St/Rupert St in Soho. Huge range of Merrel trainers there.

Also I find the north end of Neal street in Covent garden very good for trainers...

I had some Merrel sandels which lasted for ever - probably about 6 years. I got bored of them eventually, and so now I have a different pair. Really comfortable though, and didn't show any signs of falling apart.
I was having a look at those shoes the other day, but then realised I had no money... How do they feel?

How low can this site sink? FFS *WOMEN* talk about shoes over a pot of tea! Blokes talk about cars and crumpet!
Get a grip folks.

Old_fart.........*** off, If we want to discuss shoes we will

Merrell's - best shoes going IMO, take my trusty jungle mocs - battered now but still can't bring myself to chuck em, they are TOO comfy, and they are a size too small.

When I do decide to part with them I'll probly do this -
