Excuses, excuses... You sayin' i'm boring??
Get a partner. It's the single biggest incentive there is. Unless of course you'd rather *have* an excuse not to go...??

Hmmmm.
So what's keeping you away. Beer? Telly? Internet?
C'mon, get yer bum off the chair. You just haven't trained with the right person, cos if you had, you'd know how much fun it can be, unless you're *both* hoping the other one phones to cancel..!

Yup, us 4 times a week guys are all boring, infact, we're that boring, we even reply to boring topics on Scoobynet!
Your either at the wrong gym, or in the wrong frame of mind.Having a training partner is a great help too!

IMO there are two types of gym peeps, image conscious city pretty boy posers, who shave their chests and armpits, and huge strong man psychos who shave their chests, legs, arms 'and' their panty lines
I don’t go to the gym ever (I’m psycho enough already) but I do tell my soon to be sterile, heart attack m8’s that they look good in panties, LOL

treadmill or countryside run?
stationary bike or mountain biking through a forest?
Although I go to the gym every lunchtime with some people from work I do find it pretty boring. If you have a laugh, then I just don't get as hard a workout.
Thankfully, I don't go in the evenings as it's usually full of guys lifting weights who can't help but look at themselves in the mirror after every set. Those who compete I respect, but as for the other posers give me a break.
I suppose it depends what you're trying to achive. I use it as only part of my own training so it's a necessary evil.
I'd much rather do some hill races than spend 90mins on a treadmill or go mountain biking instead of sitting on a stationary bike watching MTV.

I go to the gym with a friend and his wife. Have a good laugh whilst we work out and then usually laze around in the spa or pool afterwards.
As an alternative, I went walking with the better half last night. Couple of miles through some National Trust land. Fab view from one of the ridges as you could make out the Wreken 25 miles away

Joined in December last year, been going twice a week regularly since January.
I agree with Vhris - going with friends and then splodging out in the spa aftwerwards is far better than sitting in front of the TV all night!
I feel it really helps me if there is someone with me to pace myself against.
Each to their own I guess!
edited because the gym doesn't improve spelling!

Would love to be able to go the Gym and get fit, but who do you get to look after your kids when you are doing the exercising. As it goes I only like to do exercise just before I goto sleep, as this way if I'm totally knackered, I end up getting a good nights kip. The other half hates me doing sit up's in bed let alone press up's as well

I started going to the gym in January this year and since then have lost nearly a stone dispite eating more food and drinking more beer.
The most influcencing factor for me was the lovely laydee's in lycra shorts, but you can also watch 10 different tv's at once. You can also get all hot-n-sweaty in the sauna and steam room (even hotter if a bikini clad laydee enters the sauna or steam room).

Joined my health club nearly 4 years ago, I now go at least 3 times a week.
Since the day I joined I have:
Pulled the gorgeous receptionist(been together nearly 3 years now)
Burned off the keg and replaced with 6 pack.
Made a load of friends.
Been on a few 'adventure days' with the club, including hovercraft racing .
Returned to near schoolboy fitness levels.
Spent a lot of time in the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi
and missed a lot of crap on TV.
If you find it boring change your routine / programme and get a training partner.
As soon as I started feeling better and seeing results I was hooked.
