Right, all of this slanging between the two BBS's is getting a little childish isnt it?
Why don't we all get along and have a bit of fun in safe controlled conditions?
I suggest we all meet at the next 'Run What Ya Brung' at Santa Pod? This is on Sunday the 3rd Feb.
Then the 280odd bhp RS Turbos can race against our pitiful little scoobies and make us look silly.
Who is up for this then? I rekon it will be a good day, we can all meet and decide if everyone who owns an RS wears a baseball cap, and if everyone who owns a scooby is old and boring.....
Then we can eat burgers and drink coffee!
Cheers
Paul

Suits me, can we say march sometime? Anybody fancy doin it at Shakespere county raceway? (closer to me....)
What id REALLY wanna see us all do is a rolling start thing from say 30-130 but that would be too hard to time, so 1/3 or 1/2 mile racing (need a runway) would be good, that'l cancel out the advantage of whos got the most traction, and be more about whos cars are actually faster (top speed run would be silly as cossies have moon rocket gearing, unless u lot wanna?).

Steve3drRS, why do you want it near you, worried your car may break down??
Rolling start, will your clutch not take it?
And why do you want to change an established form of timing (1/4 mile) is this to suit you very own needs to make sure your Ford Sierra is the best??
Duh..............

OH WHAT A SUPRISE, IVE BEEN 'FLAMED'...
Anyway....
Its not really NEAR me, its jus closer.
And ive got a paddle clutch thanks, u?
If i wanted it to be completley in my favour id say "lets all do a top speed challenge" then cossies win easily.
1/4 mile is not far, 400m, so its all about startline traction, and ive got 2wd u got 4wd.
I said 1/3 1/2 mile or a rolling start as thats a happy medium between the need for speed and power... u see???
Watch out for the 4wd cossies too.
Im happy to do 1/4mile, no matter what, so ill see you there,
Would u so happily turn up if it was a top speed challenge?
Cheers

Davy Boy you silly **** if you've got a 4x4 its gonna have better trackion yes? So you (might)pull away fast than a 2wd, so the longer you make the track (i.e. 1/3 or 1/2 mile then the more chance of evening things up the 2wd and 4x4.

Steve,
How delicate are you?
That was never a flame... it just made me smile. Maybe you should try and find the humour in statements rather than take everything anyone says as a personal attack.
Mark
PS
This post was put up in a constructive manner, it was no way intended to regarded as a flame or anyother negative sort of communication. If you, or anyone you know or are likely to know takes offence or is harmed in anyway then this was not the intention and I accept no liability for you being soft!

To make it fair and even it should be a number of tests. Lap of a circut, 1/4 mile, top speed etc etc. We could get a car mag to jugde it and run a feature that would settle the argument permanently.
Oops, Did we not do this already?

Who cares whose car is the fastest at this or that? A good driver at the wheel of a modest car will embarrass some fairly serious machinery being driven by an average driver in the real world...
Just enjoy what you've got and respect your fellow car enthusiasts!
PS: Mine is faster than yours!

Right, stop all this bloody bickering.
Lets all meet at the pod on the 3rd and have a good day.
The RS boys car bring the baseball caps, the scooby lads can bring their flat-caps
That is enough now.

Revs magazine did a feature under laboratory conditions with guys from here and from the RSOC BBS and the scooby boys won by a mile. All cars were dynoed, 0-60, slalom, 1/4 mile and top speed, cars were in various stages of tune. I actually like cossies but its down in motoring history they got well beat.
cheers
