Question

I as well as a quite a few other people i know have been using an ATM machine for the last 12 months with our visa cards and no transactions have been appearing on our bank statements.
Big Question??? to any banking types out there, Will we eventually get billed??

Unfortunatley before you all get excited this machine is not in the UK.

Probably..make sure you can pay it back if you have to.
Can't understand why you'd want to publicly admit to theft though?

Hello

I have had a transaction appear on my credit card over 11 months late.

I was going down the lines of it should appear within a timely fashion and arguing with my credit card company. In the end I gave up as it was a small amount. They were open to negotiation about paying it over several months interest free.

So if it does finally appear as stated elsewhere, make sure you can actually pay it off.

Steve.

You are using a UK bank account card / credit card withdrawing cash in another country, I guess.

I do a lot of travelling for work and withdraw cash using a company credit card rather than using bureau de changes. I have had transactions from over a year ago appear on the card statement recently, it seems some countries / banks it takes a while for the transactions to come through.

I still have some outstanding though, but it is the company who is benefiting from this not me.

Where has he admitted to theft? If he's used his card in an ATM and the CC company hasn't billed him for the transaction thats TS on the CC company and the owner of the ATM.

Question

Yes i can pay it off, but i think the lure has been too great for some people.
Is their a time limit to this sort of thing? i.e could the money be recovered 10 years later?
Currently the machine is been emptied every 1.5 days.

Keep the advice coming, as it`s a hot topic here, as you can imagine.

NotREV, the post reads as someone is habitually withdrawing cash with the hope that he will never be billed. That sounds like theft to me. The money has to come from somewhere..either higher CC rates, lower interest on deposits or whatever...in the end the public pays for it. Saying it's someone elses TS is pathetic, and a sad indication of society today.

Old fart...you have a very selective way of reading the original post...I don't think he indicated that he has been continuosly withdrawing cash in the hope that he wont be billed..he only said he has been using the machine......theres a clear distinction between them...and theft is to INTEND TO PERMANANTLY DEPRIVE...wheras his post indicates that he is willing and able to pay back, so wheres the theft?

NotoriousREV - it doesn't work like that. He knows he is using his card frauduantly, thus an offence.

Surely the bank have noticed lots of monry going out and nothing coming in?

Also, think of it the other way round. You'd expect your CC company to inform you if they thought your card was being used frauduantly you'd expect them to tell you.

Still - it's only money

The post, and subsequent ones, indicate the cash is being withdrawn in the hope that the money will never have to be paid back. Whatever, if it's a one off and he had no idea he wouldn't be billed then fine, all he has to do is say that. I'd still be embarrased to ask the question.

Question

In my opinion i`m not using my card fraudulantly as i`m just waiting to be billed, but as it`s taken a year so far obviously you begin to wonder.
Chuck, get off your moral high horse mate, if you knew where i was and the specifics, you`d be wondering too.
Still listening.

LOL try and knock me off it then!
Now if you'd said..
" I visit xxxx frequently and often have to withdraw cash on my cc. I don't check my statements as dilligently as I might but I have just noticed that I haven't been billed..' then you cudda got away without the Old_Fart's tutting
I'm not judging you, I don't know you. But I'm bored and this is as good a place to spend time as any right now.

And I'm pretty sure there is a time limit for debt recovery, but could be 5 years.

I've read the original post again and I can still see no admission of theft, again only someone using an ATM machine and not beng billed for it.

Those of you who are seeing something else in what is written are

a) assuming a lot of things about the poster

b) applying your own moral standards on the situation telling us more about you than about the poster
