In a traffic jam on the motorway, all 3 lanes either stationary or moving about 5-10 mph.
Suddenly saw 2 bikers, one inbetween inside and middle lane, the other between outside and middle lane, racing each other (they kept looking over at each other and trying to keep up with each other) down the middle lines doing around 40+mph.
Bellends! there's no need for it!

Nothing wrong with that, most do a lot more than 40 mph! Its upto them whether they want to take the risks. I do it everyday with tens of other bikers round me, let alone the 100's that travel in earlier and later than me on the same stretch of road all doing the same.
I think tw@ts that sit in the outside lane of the M25 doing 50mph in an Audi TT being a complete arrogant w@nker and refusing to move over when nothing in front of him and to the left of him are far more dangerous and worse, this was what I cam across this morning while I was on my bike and I made sure he knew what I thought of his driving when I pulled up alongside him! He was sitting there, late 20's in a suit with phone stuck to his ear and elbow on the window sill just ignoring everyone behind him, and he still refused to move over when I suggested it!
[img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img] I pulled over and sat there and watched and he continued to do the same and just would not move, people had to undertake him. Wish the old bill had seen him and done him for dangerous driving [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]
And you think bike riders are bad!

Its probably beacause its even more dangerous due to the ****e that generally collects on them, the broken down cars, and the illegality of driving down it. Compared to filtering between what are essentially slow moving/stationary cars - much safer any day!

I fooking hate bikers when their side of the road is queueing and then end up going down the middle of the road expecting the traffic in the opposite side to move over
well I've got news for you I don't move over, I drive down the middle of the lane I am entitled to be in
Had a few near misses mind you but hell I am in the right they are on the wrong side of the road so if there's a collision there's no comeback on me

CC i laugh at many of your posts but that one just p!sses me right off. I really hope we never meet travelling in opposite directions.
Filtering is part of everyday motorcycling, and the majority of car/lorry/van drivers etc are very courteous and allow for bikers to pass without having to go out of their way to do so.
Unfortunately there are the small minority such as yourself who resent other road users not being held up even though they wont be delaying your journey by letting them pass.
I am not going to lower myself to telling you what I exactly think of your attitude, but quite frankly its at the very least pathetic And no I am not expecting you to have to brake/dive out the way of bikers, and in addition if you were in the middle of the lane then it wouldn't be an issue as we can fit through quite easily, if you are having near misses and the bikers are on the white lines then you are sitting way over to the right of your lane and not in the middle at all and deliberately trying to make them pul back in or knock them off [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]
People who think its clever to knock bikers off really disgust me, and thats putting it very politely [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]

CC If you have space, you really should shift over - we are only talking a couple feet! I would never expect a car to move over if there wasnt room! Would you expect a HGV taking up 'more than his share' to move over a bit? Of course you would, ya tw*t!

What I object to is being bullied. Not all bikers are courtious and that's what I was referring to. You can tell the way the biker is handling his bike as to whether he's being gentlemanly about making progress. For those guys following me in traffic I make space and regualarly get a thumbs up
The arrogant tossers weaving, diving on the brakes bunny hopping and generally being obnoxious I block
I repeat just as there are arrogant ***** driving cars so to there are arrogant bikers

Would you expect a HGV taking up 'more than his share' to move over a bit? Of course you would,
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against bike drivers (My father and brothers are bikers), but common sense has to prevail. In slow moving traffic I do move over slightly to let bikes filter down the middle, but in stationary traffic you cannot move. And plus you cannot guarentee that drivers in slow moving traffic will use their mirrors to see bikes hairing down between them and the car next to them when wanting to change lanes.

There are plenty of w@nkers out there on bikes, but not all of us are like it. I have recently noticed a lot less courtesy from other bikes towards other bikes, let alone towards cars etc. This is mainly in London however. I am being raced by other bikes to get to a space to filter and I find it quite amazing that it just can't be a case of we all line up and go nice and friendly. Its not just couriers though either, its a mixture of bikers being like this. Think it maybe to do with people being forced onto bikes because of the congestion charge who know nothing about biking and courtesty and are giving us all a bad name. Some of the scooter riders I find just amazing as to how arrogant they can be towards big bikes
I always make a point of sticking my hand up and nodding to anyone who noticeably makes an effort to show they have seen me and are making way for me, its only right to do so.

I don't aim at bikers - but I'm not going to risk a crash with another vehicle by swerving out of their way.
Like I said if both lanes of traffic were in the middle of their respective lanes then we could pass through easily, in fact without going over the white lines or touching them. However the people who insist that the bike isn't going to get past and moves over to the right of the lane means that we have no choice but to cross the white lines to get round the arrogant w@anker who is deliberately blocking us. Why should we be held up in traffic by one or two motorists deliberately blocking our way?
Just sounds like a refusal again to let them drive through if you have to sit close to the white lines

Having recently been for my first trip on the back of a bike, I was utterly amazed at the space you have to play around with - the best analogy I can come up with for a car is having 3 empty lanes to play with. Traffic was an almost abstract amusement.

However: One thing that really seriously p*sses me off with bikes is when the traffic's doing low speeds, and they're filtering at twice that. Not because I mind them 'making progress', but consider this: how easy is it to pick out a rapidly moving bike against the background of cars, using your mirror?
All too easy to miss.
In addition, I really shouldn't have to check for someone undertaking between me and the car I'm passing before I pull back in.
Think bike stickers - How about some for cars that say "Bikes, Think!"

How can scooter riders be arrogant? Quite easily! By cutting up other bikers who are already filtering and the scooter decides he wants to be going quicker or you are in his way If I am filtering at 40mph or whatever speed then I don't expect some tw@t on a scooter to try and push me out the way, or to go round the car on the otherside and then pull in infront of me without looking nearly causing me to crash [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img] They are doing it more and more in London recently and one day one of the little ******* is gonna get my fist round his throat at the next set of traffic lights

Scooters in London have no respect for anyone at all. I am constantly having them cut in front of me making me brake hard just cos they haven't looked where they are going and that there are bikes already filtering up as they cut in.
If you think that is a case of my bike is bigger than yours then you have a strange way of seeing things.

I've got a WRX and I'm a girl - blokes race me and cut me up the whole time. It's not fair but it happens - what would make it dnagerous is if I had an attitude like yours and thought "Why should I be cut up by other drivers deliverately acting like *****?".
Tit for tat driving, whatever the vehicle, is really rather childish.....

It doesn't change the fact that the car is blocking me and I have to cross the white lines to get past. If someone in the other lane tries to block me then they are as bad as the t!t who is blocking me on my side. Thankfully most see that I am being blocked and will move over a bit to let me past, because they want to, not because I have ridden at them and are making them!

What about the tossers on big bikes who *have* to race scooters away from the lights. My scooter isnt slow, and I would say unless the superbike is caning it, I'll probs keep up (to at least 50/60)
However, its when they are ahead of you, and drive with no hands to show off or wheelie it - what's that all about? I can do that too y'know but its bloody dangerous!
I'm one of the few bikers that is courteous to the point of distraction - my left hand is off the bars if any vehicle moves just a tad!

I pull away as I see fit, I don't race scooters thats for sure, I have had many scooters try it on cos they feel they HAVE to be the first one into that line of traffic
If you are behind a Hayabussa who is going to slowly for you try flashing your lights at him and he may well pull over, big bikes like to take care of their fairing, not like scooters who will fit through any space regardless of whether its safe or not!

I wasn't commenting on scooters in London, but scooter riders in general! Alot of people on scooters are in far more danger than people on bigger bikes because car drivers treat us like we don't exist!!
