You know, as in clapping or an applause? If you think about it, its a bit strange and looks and sounds strange! Try to tune into clapping in sitcoms and it starts to sound so weird!
Where did it come from? Why clap? Who decided that would be a good thing to do

Its actually quite nice to be in with the TV on in the background. The thing is when I started really thinking about it I realised that I clap every day!!!! I clap at all sorts of things without even realising it Weird!?

I've thought about this before too What bugs me even more is these people who hit their leg instead I prefer to shout "Wooo" or something
How do you steer? I usually point at them while shaking my hand Or just shake my head
I do it in sarcasm at ********* who drive like idiots.

Actually i agree. I believe it started in Shakespearean times, when audiences wanted to show their appreciation for something they thought was good. Don't know how/why they settled on applause, but you have to admit, there aren't really many valid alternatives are there?!

Started way before Spokeshave. Knights out socialising would do it to signify that both hands were visible so due to the interesting/funny thing the other knight had just carried out they could now trust the clapping knight.
