Cool

LOL. Jamie, GPRS is 'always on' web connection. Unless you're using WAP then you don't have to worry.

Sounds to me like people need to check their GPRS tariffs. I've heard a few stories like this, of horrendous bills building up. I'm on Voda and have a thing called 'GPRS Select' which isn't widely publicised, but is very good. For a fiver a month, I get GPRS at £2.35/Mb (IIRC). So whether I'm using my AirCard on my laptop to download email over GPRS, or just checking my email on my phone (via WapMail) I rarely clock up a bill of more than a tenner.

Phone up your service provider and have a go at them saying you were on an unsuitable tarriff - they'll refund you some money

jlanng's right, if you talk to them it can work out big time in your favour.

I don't use my phone for business or anything like that, my phone bill was in excess of £250 odd every month, rang up 02 and kicked off saying this cant be right etc etc, my phone bill is now £70 odd, 1000 mins talk time (Anytime any network), 500 texts, 50 media messages, my GPRS only costs me £3-5 as i dont spend too much time using it.

or just ask me, as i advise people which phones and tariffs to change too.

all you have to do is check the number of minutes you use and change to tarrif that matches the minutes you use.

how hard can that be....

the biggest bill i`ve seen is for 12k..and he paid it all in cash from a tesco`s bag!!

Seems like a heck of a waste of money, is it really that useful?

Dont think I have ever had a bill over forty quid. Think of all the beer money you lot are wasting (unless they are company phones).

Simon.
