john banks > I thought your car was not running everyday at 406? and that you had tweaked it on the rollers (plus used lots of octane boost) to run that level for a set amount to get the result? Or have I been not read the posts you have made about it correctly?

Christian, the 406 is the best figure it did of about 10 in the range 394-406, I tried various boost levels from 1.5 to 1.7 midrange, and 1.5 to 1.6 top end. Torque varied with boost, but power didn't. On the road at the moment it is running 1.65 bar midrange, 1.55 bar at peak power.
I run the car with the same settings on the road, and I use a full bottle of NF for every tank. I don't use the car every day because it would be irresponsible to use something I am not certain is reliable to respond to life-threatening emergencies. Main concern is the standard gearbox until I get the Lateral one in.
You seem unhappy with my "dyno proven" (which is bollox) results?
If anything I have only ever turned my car down for the dyno to avoid lunching the engine on the dyno which would be inconvenient and embarrassing Previous Star runs were so hard on the car I had to run less timing than I could on the road. This was no special dyno one-off tune. There is more available if I advanced the ignition a bit more, but I don't want to find the det threshold at this level on standard internals in case it drills holes in my pistons.
Everyone seems so unhappy that I use octane booster to protect my engine? Well tough, it is my engine and I'll run it on what I like

Back to the point in hand, show me all those JCB's in your garage / stables / whatever and I'll hand you the trophy!

Evo with 408 bhp (dynoed)
Evo with 400bhp (not dynoed)
Scooby with 250 bhp (not dynoed, but 220 bhp version with 1.15 bar held)
1058 bhp
And I didnt count the gf's Ford Ka which would add a whopping 60 bhp! LOL

BTW, I don't know of anyone that has run over 400 BHP on the rollers on a Scooby who doesn't regularly use additives for their rolling road runs and apparently also on the road (although Andy F didn't for his recent 400+ run at 1.35 bar with headers at Star). Some of them keep drums of stuff in their garages and pour it in before hand. I'm not saying their cars wouldn't run over 400 without, mine wouldn't at Star I don't think certainly - more like 385 max without headers no matter what boost I run I reckon.
