Is 104mph really that bad.......
#1
As an aside to the other "Ambulance driver..." thread, i'd like to get a petition going...... so who here thinks 104 mph is ok in the circumstances involved I.E. a medical emergency and that life over rides the law (i.e. anyone would break the law to save a life).
I have done more than 104 mph on more than one occasion and don't see it as a bad thing at all. 120mph, 140mph yes that's a different matter but 104! at this speed the only danger available is going to be a burst tyre (which is very rare and can happen at any speed and cause a big accident), Mechanical failure e.g. engine seizure (which is very unlikely even in a new Vauxhall) and one of those idiot slow drivers who pay no attention to their mirrors and cannot judge the speed of another car (and shouldn't be allowed on the road!), then just change lanes in front of you. None of these things would have presented a problem at this time of night.
So I say he should be let off and left to do his job as he see's fit with his training.
Please say 'I' if you agree he has done no wrong.

errmmmm of course it is ok - AUTOBAHNS.
motorways are the safest roads. speed limits were set thanks to the AC Cobra testing...and fuel crisis.
standard cars are much better than cars even 20 years ago.
