M25 : WTF happened to lane discipline??
#1
Driving anti-clock A3 to A2 to get a ferry back from Dover around 1PM on a Sunday. Four lanes of loosely-bunched traffic all driving 60 - 65 apart from the inside lane which was doing 75 No temporary speed limit - so WTF was that all about?
Reckon I undertook at least 25 cars who were driving in the outside lanes oblivious to the fact the inside ones were empty.
Not pround about undertaking but then what do you do? Miss the ferry? I don't think so.
I thought UK lane discipline was excellent so what was going on? Is this a new UK problem?

Think again!
Lane discipline on busy motorways does not exist in the UK.
I had a few close shaves today on a packed M1 between Luton and London due to w@nkers switching at the last second. And for what? A few car lengths.
I especially like the 1.1 Clio that just sat in the 3rd lane @65mph for 2 or 3 miles, refusing to move into the empty 2nd lane despite about 10 cars queueing to pass.
When it moved over, surprise, surprise it was a young woman driving who was busy chatting away on her phone - without a hands free

Trust me, you think the UK is bad, get over here (Canada). Jesus! it's fecking crazy! Every day since I have been here I've seen an accident due to someone being too close to someone in front. Plus it does not help that you can quite happily undertake, and 18 wheelers do! frequently! mad!
Does make for fun when you're out for a blast though, weaving in and out of traffic bit hard in a slowpoke dodge neon though

I thought changing lane is illegal in Canada when there are queues?
Don't suppose the law matters when it comes to the 'me 1st' attitude most of us adopt when it comes to driving!

Watch it Father pierre.... its not just "young" women who hog the middle lane. I've seen many a "Family" man doing just the same. He seems to think that because he has his precious family in the car, he can dominate whatever lane he wishes. Many's the time I have eventually overtaken him and then pointedly moved in to the inside lane to point out that , thats where he should be.

Seriously, haven't had a toke in 8 years. Dope cafes are for losers over here and tourists....
Good night.
