Thumbs down

What's annoying is that whilst it tells me I can't get Freeview, there's absolutely no indication of when it will be available. Which is very annoying (particularly as I can see the transmitter from my house, so can't see any reason why I shouldn't be able to get it when they upgrade the bloomin' thing. Cheers.

RON, you may still be able to get it with a high-gain antenna?

Ron

My postcode search meant that I should not be able to get Freeview digi tv, I have a pretty much standard antenna but with a booster (in sleepy Somerset) so I gave it a go and had no problems at all.

I bought a Nokia 221T from Dixons (the 221T got good write ups from Which? and the home entertainment magazines) and when I bought it I asked if I could bring it back. Dixons (my least favourite store!) stated that if you are unhappy within 14 days bring it back properly packaged and you get a full refund. So buy a 221T from Dixons and if it don't work take it back....

Note that 14 day take back at Argos does *not* cover digiboxes. I think they are clamping down on people doing just this.

But if Dixons are happy, then go for it. The 221T is known to be one of the better boxes with weak signals.

Argos are doing the Pace Twin (built in HDD recording, twin tuners) for £279.99 at the moment. First over the air software upgrade (that shoudl fix its software bugs) is due this week.

Cheers

Ian

similar problem to MarkO.. our signal arrives at our house via a non-digital booster mast..can't find out when it's planned to be upgraded.. Doesn't carry channel5 either.. No cable in the area and no line of site for satellite... the land that time forgot!

the chanel choice is crap, when ITV Digital hit the dust all the decent chanells like eurosport were lost. It's now no alternative to sky at all if you want any decent chanells so dont spend teh money if you expect a sky type service.

What do you expect for nothing? you have to PAY for sky. It's better than nothing.

(well I had itv dig so never had to pay for the box) so good value imho.
