So now its OK to be a terrorist by hijacking a plane and flying to this country. For all the stuff we read about how the government will stamp out terrorism we now quash the convictions of the men responsible for the hijack.
In their defence they said they were fleeing persecution by the Taleban.
Why then did they not get off the plane at one of the 3 previous stops that the plane had made.
They have already cost the UK an estimated £12m.
Afaik they should be sent back to Afghanistan immediately and not left to stay in the UK at the expense of the taxpayer.
Chip.

Whoa! I've only looked at one report, but it looks like they basically got off on a technicality, rather than people saying it's OK to hijack.
Am prepared to be corrected.
Yesterday at the court of appeal Lord Justice Longmore, together with Mr Justice Hooper and Mrs Justice *** found the convictions were unsafe.
They found that the trial judge had made an error in law in his summing up which could have misdirected the jury, and thus made it unsafe for the convictions to stand.

Which bit of the conviction was unsafe??????
They got on a plane, armed to the teeth, hijacked it, threatened to kill everyone, got it flown to Stansted, sat there surrounded by 100's of armed Police for days on end and then surrendered and immediately claimed asylum on the grounds that they would be killed if they were returned to Afganistan.
Which bit of their guilt is in doubt?
What message does this send to every terror organisation that is considering hijacking a passenger airline??
How much has did the hijack cost the tax payer???
How much was the legal aid bill for this appeal????
How much are they likely to receive from the British tax payer in compensation?????

the whole situation just makes me ashamed to be lead by such a pathetic bunch of losers that the labour government are.
People like that should be on the death penalty for terrorist acts.
our government are useless, screw human rights, they evaded those, the moment they put other people in danger
