How often does mail go missing?

Basically in the last month on two occasions people have sent me CD's and they never arrived.Either......
1.They never sent them in the first place
2.Losses are part of life
3.Something dodgy is going on,ie theft within the royal mail
Thats two out of about 20 in the last month.Not acceptable imo.

This use to happen a lot in my area.....I lost quite a few things that should have been delivered. In the end I sent myself an empty box and that didnt turn up either 
Got onto the Post Office and they didnt sound too shocked.
I read in the local paper a while after that 3 guys were arrested for nicking mail
A short while after about 25 post boxes had petrol poured in them and set on fire. Bearing in mind this was a couple of weeks before Christmas and possibly their busiest time of year [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]

I never have vinyl go missing (touch wood i have 20 arriving this week) and the big letters saying 'do not bend- records' kinda gives it away.
Same for dvds (have about 3 a week arrive)

) is honest...

used to work for royal mail..(14years for my sins!!)
started as postwoman, and finished in the customer services.....
and "yes" post goes "missing" mostly unexplainable..... but lots due to badly written/wrong addresses, crap packaging, human error (postman cant read
)machines eat it......... the main reason stuff dont arrive tho??? cos it aint been sent!!!!

LOL..... i was one of the "face to face" service agents......
and NEVER AGAIN..... i got threats of all kinds!!!!

Seems to be the trend now days Centralising everything!
What happened to the good old days of one to ones? Ah I nearly forgot, they wanted more money in return for less CS
