Got a call from a phone insurance company today (on home phone!) stating that due to an admin error my insurance had been stopped on my mobile.

He then wanted some personal details before (what I can only guess) trying to sell me some replacement cover.

My current phone is an Orange upgrade and I know full well I got 12 months free insurance so I questioned him. He said he would check out my details and ring back.

I rang Orange who says there is nothing wrong with my insurance.

Has anyone else been approached in this way and been given some bull story to get you to buy extra insurance you do not need?

My mates just cancelled his insurance because there taking the ****.

His phone got stolen when he was working on a building site, phoned them up and told them, they then said its not covered cos he was on a building site!

So is my phone not covered if it gets stolen from my car? or from the desk at work? its a bloody joke!

Watch Orange. Some t**t there 2 months ago advised me to increase my plan to Talk 2000. Fine said I. Today I go for a replacement 6310i, and because of my new tariff, I dont get free insurance anymore!!

I went abso-feckin-lutely berserk, and my new free phone arrives in the morning

You have been warned.
