ebay - what to do when someone doesnt pay up?
#1
hi folks
I recently sold something on ebay (used it loads of times before and never had any problems) and I cant get hold of the chap that bought it despite sending numerous emails!
I presume that as the person has won the auction its a legally binding contract for him to buy ?
Just wondering if anyone else has had this sort of problem and what they have done about it. Is there an Ebay email address or tel number I can contact for assistance?
thanks

I'd give him a bit of time first.Dont forget folks......
1.Go on holiday
2.PC's break
3.Lose email addys
etc,etc.
The reason i say this is cos i had a problem regarding an ebay sale which was out of my control and i'd hate to have had negative feedback for it.

Was the item expensive? Have you lost anything by them not contacting you? Just re-list the item.
Wait for a reasonable amount of time for them to get back to you and then leave negative feedback. Notify ebay of the non payment and re-list the item. Negative feedback is not a good thing to recieve as the whole ebay thing is based on trust.
I would not be impressed if ebay gave my address or phone number out so someone could come around and threaten me simply cause my pc broke and I did not pay for a 2 quid item I bid on!

I've sold a few things thru ebay and most times people have paid up no probs. But on the odd occasion when they don't I give them a reasoable length of time then if emails etc don't produce results, I give negative feedback and re-list the item. Not much else you can do.
