Witnessed a Ferrari 360 write off!
#1
Its not every day you get to see a Ferrari 360 written off before your eyes.
NB Driver was completely unhurt fortunately.
The Hill Climb in Jersey yesterday saw 14 Ferraris come over from England to compete. One poor chap couldn't get his F40 ready in time so had to slum it in his 348.
The fastest machine was a mint F360 Spider with wonderful sport exhausts. I watched its first run through the S bends and it was impressive. I moved further up the hill to watch the second run.
It came into the S's already out of control fishtailing at very high speed. It left the road and flew over the bank into the stream behind. Fortunately it didn't roll and driver was able to get out unhurt. It not everyday you see that. It took them hours to recover it in the evening.
My son told me off for not taking digital photos to post on wreckedexotics.com but I didn't have the heart.
I wonder what the guys insurance policy will be next year.

My digital camera was in my car and I was too lazy to walk back up the hill to get it.
Pleased I went. Shame no scoobies. I can understand you not wanting to smash up your car into granite walls or trees. The sight of the Ferrai being written off won't have encouraged you either?
Last year there were two excellently driven scoobies that set new class records. A lot of vehicles were not ready in time for first meeting. My kart is still in bits otherwise I might have been tempted. Who needs a Ferrari when a kart is significantly faster and much cheaper to repair if you have an off.
Good day out.

Just checked out your photos taken from Radio Corner. I must have been standing about 10 feet to the left of you earlier on. Also watched from the bank just down from Les Platons/ exit from Sleamans.
I wonder if they intend to do the Guernsey hill at some point?
Good to see Ferraris being used properly and not just parked outside wine bars etc.

I saw a 550 maranello pretty much totalled at our local safeways petrol station the other day. The guy had just bought it from the sultan of brunei, and it was, apparently, one of the only tiptronics in the UK.
It sounded to me like the throttle stuck open when he booted it out of the petrol station, so he hit some posts, then went over the central raised bit, ripping a wheel off, before tearing round the supermarket carpark, and planted it in a tree with the engine still screaming and fluid all over the car park.
My mate ran to the car and turned the ignition off, and the guy was sat there (shocked, obviously) with a full can of petrol on the floor between his legs (WTF?)
It was a miracle that he didn't kill anyone (apart from the car, that is).
