not too sure what you mean, BUT you can't put a 'newer' plate on an older registered year car.
Eg.. you can't put a 'D' reg plate on a say 'A' reg 1984 year car!!

do you follow??

Not 100% sure but as long as you don't make the car look newer than it actually is then it should be fine.

I have an H reg plate on an 02 car.

You can make the car look older but NOT younger than it is.

SO if you have a 51 model you CANNOT put on an 02,52,03 reg plates.

What a load of tosh... you can stick the plate on no probs. There is a rule about changing plates onto a motor to protect people from being fooled into thinking a car is newer than it is etc... but it can not really be applied to private plates without a prefix/suffix can it.

Besides, ignoring the fact your car is almost new anyway, I very much doubt you will be leaving the plate on when you come to sell the car anyway.
