What is best radar detector

Im looking to buy a radar detector, I recently had a cobra 9000, it was terrible, had to be on top of gatso's to trigger it, what are your views, snooper 715 is cheap, any good? also anyone got one for sale, must be cheap cos im skint

what you go for depends on what kind of protection you want - the gps ones seem to be best if you want to be informed of all the fixed speed cams and the Bel models seem best at picking up fixed and police-held radars without using gps...

I have a Bel 550 euro which is very good, triggers well before gatsos. Try www.autoexpress.co.uk and go to product tests and there should be a review of detectors. From what I remember the results tied up very well with similar tests from Evo magazine and ukspeedtraps web site.

Wait until you have enough money to buy a decent one. Don't get a cheap one, the false alarms will annoy so much, you'll turn it off. Valentine One is one of the best on the market.
