My wife is a paramedic

The other night she had an Emergency (blue call)to a pregnant woman who was in "Extreme" pain and perhaps sufferig a miscarriage.

She gets there and get the woman and her husband into the Ambulance.

It's a black couple, which wouldn't mean anything except that the husband turns round to my wife and says "Get your hands off her I don't want my wife treated by white people"

You F*CKING what !!!

Even if this person is a racist how could he put the lives of his wife and child at risk by being so narrow minded.

Firstly I don't understand racism but secondly and most important, I don't understand how you could put your loved ones at risk by being a racist.

Can someone explain the difference between a biggot and a racist? The reason I ask is I was having a very interesting chat with a black fella in my shop a couple of weeks ago and he offered the opinion that a black man could never be racist 'only' biggoted. We didn't have time to carry on the chat but that statement stayed with me and I was looking for an explanation....

The thing about racism is that it has historical significance. The black guy probably meant that in his opinion a black person couldn't be as racist as a white person in a white country where blacks are a minority. Black people didn't colonise and enslave large parts of the white world etc etc. In a perfect world a black person being racist would be just as serious as a white person, but it ain't perfect...
