ON WATER :-) I've only been faster in my Scoob (Legacy GTB) not on the roads obviously ;-)


I was on sea trails on a 47' sports boat with 2 x 1200hp on some relatively flat water outside Newport RI - usa.
Engines were LOVELY - 648 inch^3 with two massive four choke Hollies plus a monster supercharger and straight through exhausts -now that sounded sooo gooood!
Engines were full racing specs de-tuned for marine use(rebuild heads every 50hrs and full re-build at 100hrs!) You could still feel the acceleration at 100mph and we hit out own wash at 120, took off I guess must of been 0.5m vertical (how far we travelled I do not know) - imagine doing that in your car - there was a helva bang when we landed

I know it is not a general scooby subject, but I think it is of interest to most petrol heads like myself.

Newport is a beautiful harbour, the best in the USA in my opinion. Did a little power boating myself there lasy year but nothing as fast as that.
