AA used them 3 times in as many years:

Recovered my bike after a crash, took it to my home and then took it from my home to the repair garage !

Broken down car somewhere! Took just over 30 minutes to get to me

About 3 hours ago, problem with another car came within the hour, fixed the problem and went...............

Fantastic service

Yep, second vote for the AA.

Only used them once. Car died on my way home on a friday night. Went to phone using my mobile but realised it was at home aaaaarrrrrrghhhhhh!! But imagine my immense smugness seeing an AA phone in the Lay-by up ahead With me in less than an hour and even followed me home to make sure all was well.

To be fair i dont THINK the RAC do this anymore...

I have been with green flag, rac and now with AA never had to use any of them so cannot really say which is best.

AA got to me within 15 mins. Took them only about half an hour to fix a tricky immobiliser problem, with telephone support from their technical department.

I signed up for RAC just before the battery story. Heard the other side of the story from very helpful RAC chap. Apparently, first cases out of 16 were all diagnosed correctly so then the programme makers moved the goal posts and deliberately lied to the RAC and gave a completely false story of how the battery came to be flat.

With my Pajero, the alternator belt had worked loose so it looked at first like a bad battery not holding the charge. My car was still under warranty as I had not long bought it. I even told the RAC chap that if it needed a new battery then no problem as I could claim it back. The Pajero has two enormous batteries and I joked that he could make his target for the month

He insisted it didn't need one and he arranged to get it completely fixed.

I have to give RAC 10 out of 10 based on my experiences with them and I'm usually an difficult git to please
