I've recently been reading quite a few articles about women and equal opertunities! They want to be equal to men! Therefore I propose the following:
Women should pay the same high insurance premuims that men have to pay!
Or, even better
Men should only have to pay LOW insurance premuims that women pay.
I prefer the second one myself

Under your reasoning, all people whatever age they are should get the same insurance premium, otherwise that is being "ageist"......
Stop having such expensive accidents and you too can have lower insurance premiums, simple.

heh, Actually I have only ever once in my 5 years of driving had an accident, and it was proved not my fault! It is other boy racers and people who don't pay attention that pushes my premiums up!

I don't think it makes much difference these days does it? They still fleece you!!
Saying that, I am with Elephant.co.uk (this isn't advertising is it? ) and I must say their prices are the cheapest I can get. Did one of those confused.com searches and no one got close.
Anyway, moved this week literally 200 metres from where I used to live. Informed them of change of address and that the car was garaged over night now. I was expecting a HOOOGE reduction, but the guy said, "that will be £9.00 extra on your premium".... I thought he was having a larf to be honest and told him too!! Apparently, even though I have moved 200 metres, it is not the same postcode and therefore has a different charge.

I read an article somewhere that said women do indeed make less claims but that is because they drive less miles on average. Per mile driven women make slightly more claims than men.

I tried the one "specifically for women" and found them to be just over £600 more expensive than the one I was then with!
As I was only paying just over £600 with that company a 100% rise was not in my interests!

Equal opportunities my foot! I sometimes think I'm the only person to have noticed it in the world but women's opportunities have now taken over guys! I'd much rather be a lass in the world of today. For a start you don't have to suffer every second advert ripping the p1$$ out of you just because something hangs between your legs

You're on about Diamond I think. The ad with the two women arguing over who's going to pay for the food. B*ll*cks, we all know they'd be looking around for a bloke to pay for them.

This argument/discussion/debate will never come to a happy conclusion. Men and women ARE different. The tables are turning but if you really look at the whole picture, where something moves in the favour of one sex, something else moves in the favour of the other sex. Swings and roundabouts guys and gals.

I got two quotes from Diamond, the sexist insurance co. IMO one as Robert and one as Roberta If I get mi nads cut off I can save £200 a year
It takes the pith as far as I'm concerned, there's new female drivers getting cheaper insurance than me with full no claims
