Can anyone please help me out with the following international dialling codes? (I've edited out the last few digits)

0031 627xxxxxx (Holland I assume)
0033 618xxxxxx (France?)
0034 647xxxxxx (Spain?)
0041 412xxxxxx (Switzerland?)

Now - I'm more or less happy with the country codes, but I'd be interested to know the area name / mobile operator for each phone number.

Could someone help me please?

Thanks, but I'm pretty happy with the country codes (I should have been more clear in my post)

I need to know the regional codes, or which mobile operator it is (if its a mobile phone).

thanks for the input, anyway.

For Holland the dialling code is 0627
For France, 0618
For Spain, 0647
and Switzerland 0412

Steve,

I have sent a mail to an old work mate of mine to see if I can get hold of someinformation that Might be useful for you.

We used to deal with the telecom routing/billing for a few counties in Europe.

any phone number beginning with 06 or 6 in France is a mobile.
Bougytel is a big mobile operator and I've forgotten the rest of the providers. Like the UK it is now difficult to tell who is the operator by using the 'std' code due to porting numbers across networks

The spanish one must be a mobile also, as the area codes all start with a 9 !! sorry about the first lot of garbled cr@p.

OK BuRR have you an answer!

Right the general area is called something like Castellon, the way Spanish codes work is that each area is divided into subareas within the general area, all our codes for Spain start 9xxx so the are above relates to an area code of 9647.

Spain landline numbers
list of spain area codes
Its deffo a mobile number :
www.wtng.info/wtng-ss.html#Spain.

1998 - national numbering change
Spain has adopted a national 9-digit subscriber number plan in early 1998. New numbers were formed with the digit 9 followed by the area code then subscriber number from the previous format e.g. Madrid +34 1 xxxxxxx becomes +34 91xxxxxxx from other nations. Within Spain, all domestic calls whether local or long distance will require the new 9-digit number. The dialling sequence for calling from one area code to another remains unchanged as the initial 9 was previously used as the domestic long distance prefix.
Wireless numbers begin with 6.

The ITU/European Union standard international dialling prefix of 00+ was also adopted at this time, replacing the former 07+ access code to reach numbers of other nations

I reckon that you drop the 9 for mobile numbers. wouldnt it make the number too long if it was included ?

Off to lunch now, will see its going later. good luck
