well, if you want to stay right in the centre of belfast it has to be the Europa (the most bombed hotel in europe? if not the world).

If you don't mind staying outside of Belfast (7 miles or so) then there is the Culloden Hotel.

'The Dunadry' is nice - about 20 minutes from Belfast and 10 from Aldergrove. Absolutely top class food. Guinness in the pub across the road is usually excellent as well.

Europa used to be 'the place' but not brilliant now. Culloden is about the most expensive place in the area. Never stayed/eaten there so no comment

<<Culloden is about the most expensive place in the area>>

yeah, never stayed their either but it's in my neck of the woods so been there a few times food/drink and it seems like one of the best places to be...

BTW - can't remember the website addresses, have a search on google but they all do have websites...

I stayed at the Culloden last summer for a family wedding too. The hotel was nice but not as good as I thought it should be for the price, approx £130/night per room with a good breakfast. Unfortunately there isn't a great choice.

Cheers guys - needs to be a fairly central hotel.

What about where to go for a booze up?

well, Europa is fine and as central as it gets.

As for booze up? take your pick, literally hundreds of places within 1-10 mins walk away.

Central Belfast then it has to be Europa or Hilton.

For booze try Bar Bacca or Irene & Nans in Brunswick Street (opposite the Europa), Apartment in Donegall Sq. West or 10 Square in Donegall Sq. South (at the City Hall), Northern Whig in Bridge Street,.......for starters!
