Visited one in Brighton at the weekend. saw a piece of Hifi in the window. Walked in took a look . Secondhand with some marks on it. Price .......£5.00 less than Richersounds etc !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This got me interested. so started to look around more.... Are they on drugs?????? the prices are way way way over the top. Also it looks like a bit like a stolen goods shop.

the shop is for "s****ers" as we call them round here. Its like a modern day pawn shop and the only people who buy are other idiots due to the inflated prices. Still it's a handy place to take all your semi-working junk for some petty cash- I took a CD player that wouldn't pause there and got £50 for it- the staff are all to thick to test anything properly!

edited cos the swear filter thinks "scnuters" (anagram) was ****!
its a word like "scumbags" no **** intended!

My brother used to work there.

His slogan for the place was `cash converters. You rob it, we'll flog it`

They're stuff is well overpriced. Tried to sell them a Gamecube and 5 games. They wanted to give me 40 pounds for it. Told them where to go.

They also have an obsession with selling replica guns. All the pond-life go in and buy these to rob post-offices.

Have you seenthe advert when a guy walks in with a set of dumb bells. He hands them over the counter and gets a wad of money back. As if, in real life he'd get 50 pence.

He even got some old uniforms and professionally changed the label on the back to this slogan.

I must dig out my copy. Last time I walked around the shop wearing it, it took them 10 minutes to actually notice, and ask me to leave.
No mention of calling the cops, though

I love the place, always worth a giggle. The best was a 10 year old CD player they were selling for £90! The next week it was gone so some mug actually bought it!!
One thing it is actually good for is old video tapes. A friend of mine who hasn't been converted to DVD's got a load of classic films all for £1-£2.

Agree, videos are one good ting they sell. Most videos are a pound or 2. Some good films as well - all the old classics, and new stuff. Wouldn't touch anything electrical though. All knocked off stuff.

Also ...the staff if they know its nicked and they are not allowed to buy it due to lack of ID etc...tend to buy it themselves.

These places need investigating

Got broken into at uni, and my CD Player ended up in cash generators, but I coulsnt prove it was mine to do anything about it.

It was though, even still had a sticker on it that I had put on.
