Last week my fromt registration plate came off when I was cleaning the Scooby, it had only been fitted with double sided tape.
Havn't used the car all week and forgot about it.
Left hame 7.15am this morning and as I left the A1 to go to into Stevenage a traffic cop on a motorbike spotted me.
Pulled me over, after I explained he was fine, HOWEVER, he did warn me that if the Ministry of Transport want to they can fine up to £1000 - BEWARE.
Traffic cop was an absolute Gent, he laft quickly, saying 'get it re-fitted Sir' he was in pursuit of two kids on a moped who passed us, on the pavement, L plates, no helmets etc.
They obviously hadn't seen him as his bike was in front of my car!

I drove round all of yesterday without mine had 2 traffic cars look at me as i went past but didn't do anything... luckily it seems...

Just put mine on yesterday, not had a front plate for at least three months.. loads of looks, but never been pulled. even sat chatting to a copper , he must have noticed, but never said anything

Drove around for 3 months with no front plate- not pulled once.

drive around for 3 days with mis spaced plate- 2 £30 fines.....

I have a TR7 once and forgot to refit number plate, cop stopped me and I said it must have blown off, he said - no way you can go THAT fast in a TR7 - just laughed and told me to get it fitted..

Good way to beat the congestion charge I would think. I bet they wouldnt let you off in central london with the excuse it fell off.

Theres money involved there so expect the full force of the law......
