Does anyone out there know of any manufacturers who make pattern fairings and the like for a Ducati? I had a low speed off on my 916BP this morning and need the "belly pan" for the right side. Trouble is I have carbon sides and will need to get red ones instead as can't afford new carbon so therefore need both sides or one'll be black and the other red!

Any details gratefully accepted as feel a bit $hitty coz of it at the moment and need a realistically priced alternative!

Thanks

Tim

No not a false neutral. At a loss to understand what happened really! Bought a 1998 RED 916bp and it corners like a dream. Obviously not as fast or smooth as the 'blade but so far I love it apart from the difficulty in getting bottom part of fairing at a price I'm happy with. thanks for your efforts so far.

Spoke to my friend, if you grab motorcyvle news there is a company who usually advertise in the race section called 'race replicas' they do pattern fairings for everything, but he did say the qaulity is not particularly good (as most just buy them for bouncing down the track).

Alternatively, if you can wait till tomorrow when he will be going to his lock up (keeps smashed up bikes + second hand parts there) he is 90% confident he has a red or yellow factory ducati belly pan there that you could have cheap (ish) seeing as its second hand etc..

So Tim you took the plunge in the end

what did you buy in the end?
how are you finding it ?

I have passed your message to my bikeshop owning friend who I am sure will know would need them for race bikes etc.
someone that makes pattern fairings as they
Only slight catch may be the fitting as some of the race parts don't bolt together too well.

edited to ask it wasn't a false neutral was it?

I've got a single carbon termignoni sitting in my garage plus a rather nice looking polished swing arm off a 916, looks stunning

Cheers Matt, found them already and they do have some really nice stuff. They are getting back to me later with delivery dates.

Rgdg the termi can, I have a set of 50mm on order but they don't have the 45-50mm conversion pipe yet and this was all supposed to be fitted before I collected it. I was more gutted about the lack of noise than dropping it yesterday!

Tim,

A few weeks ago Motorcycle City (Shipley, West Yorks) had some Ducati fairing parts hanging up in their parts department at substantially discounted prices. They have lost their Ducati franchise so I think they are selling all the spares left.

Cheers,

Ian.

What's these Ducati's like then? When I bought my gixer last December, I was sat in Carnells, when I started looking at a very attractive 916 (with some letters at the end). Sales bod said, "ooo, you don't want one of them, it will spend more time in our workshop than your garage". Odd really, since he's now left Carnells and working at a Ducati dealership.

One of my mates has just bought a mint 851. He started it up for me, and I did ask him, "do they all make that noise". The engine sounds very errr mechanical. Time will tell I guess.

Anyway, gotta rip my wheels out tomorrow for a set of 207RR's fitting. Also got to fit my race fairing (if it arrives) for two days at Cadwell starting a week on Monday.

And if anyone is interested in going to Spain for two days next year to race around either Catalunya or Jerez, keep in touch. Im planning on going back with some like minded bods from work. I'll probably post it on the BBS anyway, when details are available.

Haven't forgotten about you Tim, Just waiting for my mate to get down his lock up.

He also has a carbon fibre belly pan as well it turns out (according to his stock list on his pc) but its for a race fairing so may need so adjustment to fit standard fairing.

Thankyou sir! I have a carbon one on order but would also like a red bottom half but if he has one and the price is right I'll take a full one (just in case....)
