My cat wees on the lawn

Were your previous cats brought up indoors with a cat box/litter? Normal for a cat, esp. if it has others whose example it can follow or where another cat has already marked in that fashion.

He is mainly an indoors cat due to him being a British Blue pedigree. Didn't like to let him out coz of (1) the fate of my last cat which got run over even though I lived in a quiet cul-de-sac, and (2) pedigree cats getting stolen.
Annoying thing is that he poos in his litter tray (the stinky stuff) and wees outside! Why can't it be the other way round?!
Oh, and he is the only cat we have, so no role model!

Im not a great fan of cats, I dont like cat hairs in my food, all over the furniture, and on my clothes all the time. Whats more, all they do is sleep eat poo and waz.
anyway....one day i went to the cupboard under the stairs to get my trainers. I pulled them out and nearly put them on but noticed that they were damp.
As i pulled them closer to my face to inspect the cause of the dampness, i started to get a sniff of the most horrendus stench ever. Yep, you guessed it, the cat had wazzed in my trainers
After verbally abusing the cat and ditching the trainers in the bin i forgot about it.
A few weeks later, i went into the garage to get my tool box out, its pretty dark in there, so i just grabbed the toolbox by the handle. My tool box has a sort of small tray where the handle sits on top of it, it was full of some rather smelly liquid. I put my hand to my nose and nearly passed out, the little git had managed to aim its waz into the tray where i had to put my hand on the tool box tp pick it up
This cat had some sort of vendetta against me, im sure of it.

Jason, most cats, or so I thought, went to the toilet in the flowerbeds, gravel or children's sand pits in the garden and not necessarily it's own homes either. Not directly onto the lawn as in this case which is why I thought it was strange! Usually they like to bury their deposits, liquid or otherwise.
After the "what size are your feet" and "I haven't had sex for the last millenuim" threads, this was light relief. (For both me and the cat!)

No other cats really come in our garden. He is very indiscriminate about it, goes wherever. Doesn't sniff or anything!

My cats not only pee on the lawn but also poo on the lawn, particularly when the flower beds are hard with frost or the beds have compacted down due to not being weeded for ages.
More normal than not IMO.
