Any (Ford familiar) Diesel Mechanics?
#2
Hi Mike
Good to meet you on saturday although very briefly.
I have had trouble with the 1.8/1.6 diesel engined fiestas/escorts and its usually the filter head not holding the pressure.
Quick way to check pump the primer located on the top of the fuel filter it should go solid after about 5 or 6 pumps. If it doesn't it may have a dodgy filter head or a air leak ariund the seal or possibly a leaking pipe somewhere.
Hope this is of some use
Steve

Cheers Steve, perhaps we'll get a chance for a longer chat next time.
Sorted it (I think) there is a tiny little (what appears to be bleed valde) on the end injector, all the other ones are bridged across to the previous/next injector, apart from the last one.
It appears to have been/is seeping, when we finally managed to get all of the air out of it, it was spitting diesel out. So put some reinforced vac pipe with an end bung over it and it seems to be OK now?
Cheers for answering.
Mike.
