PC games to play over networks?
#1
i have upgraded my pc and have now linked my new one to the old one to play games against each other. i used to do this when i lived at home with my brother, at the time Quake and Outlaws were the games of choice.
the only game i've got now is Grand Theft Auto 2 (good but need bigger guns) anyone recommend a good game for this player v player stuff?

Unreal tournament. Costs about 12 quid now. IMHO much better than quake 3, as it gives more variety in gameplay
Half life and counterstrike. About 30 quid. This is the online game.
For the longer strategy type games starcraft or anything with command and conquer in the title.

if you're only looking at playing 1 vs 1 on a local 2 pc network then u prob wanna play strategy stuff.
Age of Empires II / Shogun Total War / Cossacks European Wars etc
FPS's like UT / CS / Quake 1/2/3 are not really much fun with only 2 people.
Driving games could be fun against each other but you both need a force feedback steering wheel.
still u really need to play online, esp with various isp's offering 24/7 for not much cash.
then u could join the scobynetters CS clan for a blast or 3
