id leave it, i ran about for 3 months with a rip in the side of my tyre that id caught on the kerb, downside was that it popped in the middle of nowhere bit it was a 2 inch slice of tyre
To be honest id leave it.

If it's the sidewall, don't risk it m8. If you're cruising on a dual carraigeway then it wouldn't be too extreme, but you don't want it mid-corner on a fast A-road. That'll only end in tears.
I had a slow puncture that destroyed my inside sidewall. It wasn't violent whent it let go, but I still wouldn't risk it with a new tyre.
I also ripped a chunk out a brand spanking new Goodyear Eagle F1 last year - it's up in my loft, so if anyone wants it FOC

Go and get the opinion of a professional - either your dealer or a local tyre fitter that you know. It is very hard to know without seeing it. I did this to one of my SO3s not long after having them fitted. It was very low impact and the actual amount of rubber cut was very slim. I had it checked by a dealer who were happy with it (tyre has since done more than 12000 miles with no incident).
It could also depend on the tyre you are using. I've found the S03s to be incredibly hard wearing - which might account for why it hasn't affected it too much.
