This is just wrong, if they are being persecuted them let them go to a country which they have not been at war with!
Bringing in potential religious fanatics with military training in not a good idea, don't care if they are Taliban Muslim or whatever!

We are infected with this do-good blind liberal-minded nonsense that will be our eventual downfall.
If we say no to these ppl, the refugee pressure groups will be up in arms saying this is discrimination and against the asylum laws.
bring back stalin

I saw this is yesterdays Metro.
I also found this on the Ananova site:-
Taliban fighter granted asylum
A 32 year old Taliban soldier who fought British and American troops in Afghanistan has been granted asylum.
The Sunday Telegraph reports the Home Office has given him permission to stay in the UK.
It accepts his life would be in danger if he returned to Afghanistan.
His lawyer is also working on behalf of two other people who were also involved in the Taliban.
He gave no details of the man's identity but says he was wounded while fighting for the Taliban and fled Afghanistan after the fall of Kabul in 2001.
"He was granted asylum while living in Cardiff," his lawyer Hanif Bhamjee said. "He feared for his life if he went back to Afghanistan.
"He told me he had made his application in Dover and was dispersed to Cardiff."
"I suspect he has now gone to one of the big cities, such as Birmingham or Manchester." Mr Bhamjee says the man would have have automatically been entitled to legal aid.
He says he was dealing with two other similar cases, one another former Taliban fighter and one a man who claims to have fought for both the Taliban and the Northern Alliance. He thinks it is likely their applications would be refused.
"One of the problems is that the Government is of the opinion that the situation in Afghanistan has stabilised but whether it has is another question," the lawyer said.
