If you try it again in your head it does add up to 4100

Dont forget when you are adding up that the 10/20/30`s they are 10`s not hundreds.

Look

Take 1000 and add 40 to it. (=1040)
Now add another 1000. (=2040)
Now add 30. (=2070)
Add another 1000. (=3070)
Now add 20. (=3090)
Now add another 1000. (=4090)
Now add 10. (=4100)
What is the total? (=4100)

Must admit i fell for it the 1st time and im FICK

Sorry not quite got this. I got 4100 both ways. Is that correct? should I have got different results?

it depends whether or not you are a cabbage like me - in my head i kept getting 5000, on the calc i got 4100.
