Bloody Valentines day, she buys a card for 3 quid, so do I, six quid up the chuffer because we are told we should do !
She knows I love her because I married her, fathered three children and pay all the bloody bills !

A few years back we agreed not to buy anything, so I didn't.
I was so in the bad books for weeks.
Work mate has paid £59.95 for 12 roses from flower shop.
I got 12 roses from Morrisons for £4.99.
I did get some other stuff as well though.

Nicely done! I'm just waiting for my mates to turn up for a night out on the beers, they have left their mrs's at home too. I couldn't believe they got a pass for the night but top work by them I'm ok cos I'm single so more money to spend on beer

I got a bunch of flowers, a really nice card and a take away meal tonight. I had to buy a card while Dave was in the shop. So who's the slacker here???
I don't expect anything, so I won't be disappointed - tonight I am happy (And a bit drunk)

Valentine's Day is a friggin' excuse for card companies to reap the benefits of us being gullible.
I asked for nothing and got nothing....result.
If anything I would rather have something practical or something that I really want rather than a bunch of flowers, some choccies and a card. Call me unromantic if you want, but FFS, I am not a sheep. No, I am more of a shepherd....guarding those luuuurvely sheepies to safety. yessss my little sheepies......you are safe with me....oh yessss veryyyyy safe.

Cards only. All presents have been benned. Mrs P cooked a very nice meal. I spoiled the mood of the evening by falling asleep on the settee... watching Men Behaving Badly. Recovered the situation though and bought her makeup and perfume on Saturday.... oh and a new kitchen!!!

And hot on the heels of Valentine's Day comes....GRANDMOTHER'S day.
Do you guys have it in the UK? The kids are supposed to "celebrate" their grandmother.
More Interflora strong arm mafia tactics to relieve us of our hard-earned.
As if I would even contemplate celebrating my M-I-L !!! Pass the baseball bat and lets have one less.

I am going to boycott these stupid days (except Mother's Day 'cos it 'ain't worth the hassle!!!!) and buy nothing. Fecking money spinning days playing on our gullibility.
Next it will be National Give a Card Every Time You Fart Day.

I bought a big bunch of flowers, card, and a nice meal the day before..
(I was away with the lads skiing on the day itself , and anything less than the above and life would have not been worth contemplating)
