hi
Finally bought myself a Tivo (personal video recorder PVR) after someone on here recommended one a while back, and all I can say is wow!
Completely changed my viewing habits, not longer watch "live" TV, just watch stuff that Tivo's recorded for me.
Best thing I've bought for yonks..
Anyone else got one?
Neil

Nice One :-)
Haven't had the luxury of using one at home yet but have had plenty of chances to have a good play with the one at work (one advantage of selling TV's - aside from the fact that I get to watch all of Wimbledon ). Great piece of Kit - would recommend it to anyone!
Also - Sky are releasing an integrated digibox/tivo recorder later on this year - a few months away at the moment but possibly worth the wait if you're not in mad rush for one - anyone else got any views??

Yeah, a TIVO or SKY is on my shopping list, but looks like Christmas for me.
These new recorders are definitely here to stay. So much for recording onto a DVD! Although at least you can take a recorded DVD out of the machine and play it back somewhere else.
Wonder if the Sky version of TIVO lets you record other Sky channels while you watch another Sky channel ?

Current Tivo boxes are hackable as well, add more recording time with a cheap hard drive. I'm waiting for the Sky box and hoping I can 'Upgrade' that one as well.

Gregh
the Sky unit (Sky+) isnt Tivo compliant and although it can record two channels at once it needs a twin LNB on the sat dish, and at the end of the day do you really want to record two things at once - most things are repeated on Sky Digital anyway.
I went for the Tivo as it was pretty cheap £300 and the software has had time to become almost bug free (the Sky+ unit's bound to have bugs - just look at the latest Digibox software for example).
