Hes just been awarded a £22000 (12.6%)pay rise while teachers , soldiers going to war , public servants etc get a measly 3.2%
Of course he also gets free, a 15 room Westminster pad to go along with his salary.This being decorated with £300/roll wallpaper.
Not forgetting his £2m pension fund which he will get when he stands down unlike the rest of us who will work until 65.

Nice work if you can get it.

Its about time these people realised that they work for us and are paid for by us.

This is quite disgusting. It smacks of jobs for the boys. There must be a cap on public spending. I don't agree with the fire service claims, so by default I must object to this.

Blair must put his foot down on Irvine, firmly and now.

I find it ironic that the Conservative government was voted out on sleeze, yet this government is more sleazy by far.

I am a conservative with a small c. This makes me as far left wing as a far left thing according to the way this "New Labour" works.

Derry Irvine's behaviour is probably the best sign yet that when the Conservatives finally wake up that they'll have an easy job to get elected.
