I have one. It's a Pacific Model, bought from ASDA. 80 quid and it plays DVDs/Audio CDs/MP3s and VIDEO cds, and it has LOADS of fuctions. The good thing also that if something happens with the DVD, i don't have to contact the company that makes it, but i will go to ASDA and they will give me another one, any time, any day, no matter how much time since you bought it, as long as it is less than a year.( my TV broke down at 3:00am and i went to ASDA(24-hours open) and they gave a new one the same moment )
what your friend does it that he downloads the mpeg files from the net and then he creates video CDs with a CD recording program like NERO/WinOnCD/EasyCDCreator.

No he doesnt convert them to VCD. He uses a CD-RW disk and saves them onto the disk.

i download you know what from kazaa.com and save using a CD/RW. Then i burn them onto a VCD using Nero software.

My sony player (bought from Dixons for 150 notes 2 months ago) plays them fine.

Some DVDs wont have it.

dont know if they have any in stock but its about £270 and plays divx files as well as dvd and all the other stuff, personally its cheaper to buy a writer and copy the dvd in full than to mpeg

XT, I've got one of those, and its not one year it's three
...and in two years eleven months I will take it back and claim an intermittent fault as advised by my friendly neighbourhood TV repair man. Who will remain nameless.
