Retrieving mail with Outlook
#1
How in the name of all that's holy can I get Outlook to go to all my email accounts and put them in me inbox.
The first account works ok but all subsequent ones fail on password authentication. Test emails are sent ok, I have the correct names for SMTP and POP3 servers but it just doesn't like the password.
A totally p155ed off Bajie.
Gonna go build some lego with littl'un now

A number of things to check Bajie
1. Are the other accounts std POP3 accounts ?
2. Are you allowed to collect the email from those accounts on someone elses dialup ?
3. Check to see that you have not turned on secure password authentication for the other accounts.
Try removing your first account. If the next account in the list works then you know its something well weird.
Do this - manually telnet into the server holding your POP3 email.
Command Prompt -> Type this :
telnet pop3.someserver.com 110
then type (you might not see it echoed to screen)
USER myusername
PASS mypassword
if it comes back with an OK 0 messages 0 octets or similar etc then the username/pass is OK
if it comes back with unknown user or dodgy password then you know its wrong or perhaps its not allowed on that dialup.

Thanks for the help Lee.
Made the changes without too much joy.
I went away from the machine for a while. Come back and now I can get mail from all my Yahoo accounts.
Scoobynet is playing games so I'm gonna restart and then try again.
Pc's love 'em. They're so logical
