Lost Front Panel - Sony XR-C500RW
#1
I have a Sony XR-C500RW that I retrieved from my fatally wounded Legacy Turbo. When I came to fit it in my wifes 2.2 GX I found that I seemed to have mislaid the front panel.
Is this unit a good enough player to be worth salvaging by purchasing a new front panel or am I just as well binning it and getting something else? How much would I expect to pay?
Advice please (ICE Novice)

Yes, you probably don't want to hear this either, but it may be worth just upgrading at the same time. Failing that, try your local ICE dealer along with the back unit and receipt and you may get some joy.
They are available, but normally are expensive. I know in the case of kenwood that it's almost not worth it, and have heard the same about Sony.
Try your ice shop, but sit down when they tell you

Hi,
You probably don't want to hear this, but if I were you, I'd just buy a new one.....
Halfords are doing some great deals on head units at the moment.......
I had the same problem with a Pioneer H/U. Pioneer actually said that they wouldn't just replace the face-off - it would have to be all or nothing.....

The usual form with this sort of thing (this goes for IT kit too, like power supplies for routers) is that they charge you about 2/3 the cost of the whole item just to make sure it's really not worth the effort.
