British tourist has had her arm ripped off by a lion in an animal sanctuary in Spain.
Anne Richards, 54, clambered up a barrier and stuck her fingers inside the cage, local media reported.
The sanctuary owner said: "The lady climbed up the three-metre high barrier...She climbed to the top and stuck her fingers inside the enclosure.
"Then Martha, one of the lionesses, grabbed her fingers, tugged her in and ripped her arm off."
The sanctuary was near Alicante in southeast Spain.
Local media said Mrs Richards, from the Neath area of south Wales, had been at the park with a group of other British visitors.
She was airlifted to a hospital nearby where her sister is at her bedside.
Mrs Richards' family have been informed

How thick are some people?
No doubt the EU is funding her lawsuit against the animal sanctuary for not properly warning her about the dangers of stikcing her fingers into the lion's enclosure.
