Radar/laser detectors

Am looking into investing in one for my new scoob, but not sure which to go for. The Snooper S5 looks good, but so does the beltronics 330. So fellas and ladies, what I want to know is, which is the best??

How you getting on with it?? Have been told the bel has better displays etc. but the snooper is better with Gatso's. Not sure if that is true or not so will do the search. Cheers mate!

I've got a Bel 550.... and IMHO it really is the best money can buy.
Side-by-side with a Snooper, the Bel wins every time with Gatsos - and I think that is the prime reason everyone buys them.
Add the fact that the Bel unit also copes with the mini-gatso (back of the van portable stuff) and can be easily swapped between frequency sets for all major european countries (resulting in a minimal number of false alarms) and its an easy winner.
For real peace of mind I'd want to combine the 550 with a Morpheus/Road Angel/Origin Blue GPS unit as well as a laser defuser - but as Gatso is my prime concern (and knowing whether they are 'live' or not is another), the 550 wins over all others.
Not the cheapest - but certainly the best - and better even than the Valentine one in many tests. In my experience of buying these things over the last 15 or so years, you get what you pay for - cheap units (Cobra, etc.) are useless, and you're better off not buying one that spending 100 quid on a cheap one.
AFAIK the 330 is very similar to the 550, but not quite as sensitive - and obviously doesn't have the easy 'roaming round Europe' ability....
