Heres a question for you ladies.
Whats the inside track to the mentality regarding blokes ?. Is there a mentality of I will only show an interest in 'Mr-X' if he is one of or a combination of the below :-

1)Intelligent (but not geeky)
2)Funny
3)Good looking
4)Rich
5)Well educated
6)Clean
7)Well dressed
8)Compassionate
9)Older
10)Younger
11)Body Beautiful
12)Nice Car
13)Nice House
14)Good Job
15)Likes Kids

Could you put them in order of importance IE: 6/3/2/1 etc

Have I forgotten any ?

You forgot:

16) Is a *******

So many women seem to like such men, at least in their early years.

I've yet to figure women out and I've been married 15 years hence the question.
As a bloke, I see it that you can only be yourself, but what other factors make a real difference?. Agree about some women going after Gits, is it the 'robbie williams (danger man) side which they find attractive, or is it that they have to do a bit of work themselves ?. Always fascinates me this one.

Good explanation dreamweaver!!!!

I don't particularly care what a bloke looks like to be honest. Obviously, it helps if he's good looking but that's not what I go for!

I knew my partner for a couple of years before we got together. I really didn't fancy him at all to start with. He lived nextdoor with his girlfriend (who I was mates with) and we got to know each other that way. We both liked the same things, cars, tattoos, drinking!!!!! Even his girlfriend kept saying that we should be together. He made me laugh and I had great conversations with him. The more I got to know him, the more attractive I found him. In the end, he was constantly texting me and eventually, I gave in and we got together. Needless to say, me and his ex are no longer friends but it's the best thing we have ever done. He was so worth the hassle!

So in order of importance, I'd say looks are well down my list. A bloke has to be able to have a decent conversation with me and make me laugh! Being rich would help, but not important!!!!

For me, sense of humour is incredibly important. Someone on the same intellectual level who can hold a decent conversation is also attractive.

The ability to be completely random and keep up with me conversation-wise is great as so few people actually *can* keep up once I start...

Looks fade and are only really worth the initial glance. Confidence is essential, as long as it doesn't border or live in arrogance.

There are other criteria, as I'm incredibly picky, to be honest, but these are a couple of the main things.

LOL...People who wallow in self-pity are never going to get anywhere with me. Initially I'll try to help, but if they're not helping themselves as well, then I'll give up.

I'd like someone to be the same age (or thereabouts) as me, as well...I personally don't find 90 year old men attractive. )

But yes, misery, self-pity, self-loathing are all designed to keep the sufferer single, in my opinion. I far prefer confidence, optimism, humour and a healthy sense of the absurd.

For me it would be:

1. Funny/witty
2. Intellegent (but not arrogant)
3. Clean
4. Compassionate (but manly - grrrr )

Rich and good looking is not that important but more of a bonus!

House/flat, car and job are good though

If this question were reversed (a question for men)

The answers would be:

1) A pulse (not necessarily essential)

2) number of limbs greater than 0

So Rich and Body Beautiful come pretty low on the list,

Phew, Glad about that

So if I told you I weigh 25 stone, live on the 10th floor in a council flat, and am on the Dole, but can laugh at myself, have an IQ of 140, shower twice a day and adopted a baby elephant last year I'm in with a chance

Depends if you were doing anything to improve yourself or if you were happy being 25stone stuck on the 10th floor in a council flat (I'm amazed you're STILL 25 stone, bearing in mind how often the lifts won't work. ) and looking to get a job.

...I'd like to be original, but I think Mice has got it pretty spot on

...although I'm not as mad as her obviously, so keeping up with bizarre converstations isn't quite as important

I'm working on trying to get back to my former physique but my busted shoulder is holding me back! I've just taken up a martial art which is lots of fun I was doing some stretching last night to get more flexible!!! The pain Oh, the pain

From experience I'm not as good at attracting/pulling the lasses as my mates (mainly lack of confidence) but once I've got a girl they often say that I'm very sensitive and caring! Beginning to wonder if I'm gay Gonna have to rough them up a little more

What do I look for in a bloke? It's not even worth me answering. My ideal bloke doesn't exist.
